My patients

I absolutely love working as an ultrasound tech in mooresville. Pat thinks I'm crazy bc it's a little further drive, but I think it's worth it; not only for the surrounding coworkers but the patients. In mooresville they are so appreciative of everything we do. There's been some opportunities to be closer to our house, but I've decided I'm much happier where I'm at! Today for instance I had an 87 yr old female pt and her son was with her...she told me I had a calming voice and asked if I had children...I said not yet but told her one on the way! She grabbed my hand and said your going to make such an amazing mother I can feel it. :) I just about started crying bc I had a horrible morning and was up all night bc I couldn't sleep. Once I was finished scanning her son said, " now I know I don't look like the perfect dad on earth but I've got two 15 yr olds and the best advice I can give you is that spending time means everything. You can buy expensive things, outrageous things, but your kid will be more happy just playing in the box of the expensive toy as long as it's with you. He said people need to put the credit card down and pick up a baseball and this world wouldn't have all these problems."

It was the best advice!!! The lady gave me a hug and went off to breakfast. They made my day!! :)

Hungry all the time!

So I'm sure if you've been around me pre-prego you know that my metabolism is through the roof and I am constantly eating snacks and usually like 4 meals a day....usually I eat more often than pat---really Girly I know. Suddenly at week 16-17 my appetite has become ridiculously strong!! If I get called in in the middle of the night I will have to stop and get something to eat bc I'm just that starving and won't be able to sleep. Last night I had subway at like 9, soup at midnight, and when pat got home later after his Bach party I ate with him. Im having a flashback When my Dr. said gaining 35 lbs would be normal for me and I laughed bc I couldn't really eat too much at that time...yikes lol it may become a larger than life reality! Oh well when the little man's hungry a girl's gotta eat!

We've made it past 16 weeks! This week is probably the best I've felt...I don't feel as tired~~even though I still sleep a ton...no getting sick and to top it all off I can feel Jack move!!! It started last night when I was laying on the couch just lil butterfly flutters :) then when I got in my car to head to lunch he was moving a ton bc the radio was on-he must like country (hopefully pat didn't read thar lol) He also can hear now~~poor jack gets to hear all my chatter all day long haha.

Here's a pic of him upside down sucking his thumb and another of him KICKING me :) he's getting so big these are no longer zoomed in...he's the size of a turnip!

16 week appt

Well our 16 weeks appt was today and it was quick and great! Dr. Wisler checked weight, bp, urine, and listened to Jack's heartbeat :) still gives me chills! So far I've gained 1.5 lbs, bp was great, and his heartbeat is 160's which is wonderful. We also talked about my weight bc I was worried that it's not really adding up like it says in my books and the info he gave me. On the info it says gain 8 lbs 1st trimester and a pound a week....of course my lovely worrying kicks in so had to ask if it's normal. I guess I'm just scared my crazy high metabolism will steal nutrients. But, he calmed me down and reassured me that's it's totally normal and one day I'll just wake up and there will be a big baby bump :)

My next appt is in 4 weeks and is the ultrasound/dr visit :) can't believe it's already that time!!

I couldn't be more thankful that this pregnancy has been so great. I overheard a girl in the room next door at dr office being told that they are referring her to high risk ob...I hope I never hear those words, but so thankful we haven't heard them yet!!

My first boy purchases!

My cousin kim's bachelorette party was so much fun. Court, mel, Dana, and I took my car and carpooled together. It was so great to chat and reconnect since we don't get to see eachother very often anymore. On the way home we stopped at edinburgh shopping outlets! I figure that I saved a lot of money drinking water so I get to buy my loves some goodies! Pat got a apple pie candy apple, Lila got a squeaky pimp chicken, pearl got a toy mole, brownie got chicken treats, and Jack got some adorable shirts! I love kids clothes that resembles adult clothing especially when it reminds me of the clothes I buy for pat! I also went in motherhood maternity to just glance at some jeans just to get a glimpse of sizes since it's hard for me to find normal jeans. I look absolutely ridiculous, I'm sure as the belly grows the jeans will start to fit a little better but it was a good laugh for me and Melinda lol.

Here's my fav of Jacks shirts :)

15 weeks down!

Can't believe it's 15 weeks already! So far everything's still going wonderful! Baby rooney is growing like crazy he is the size of an avacado this week :)

This weekend I'm heading out of town to louisville to celebrate my cousin kim's Bachelorette party! She's basically like one of my sisters so I'm super excited~~although it will be different being sober at a Bach party ;) ...we are heading down carpooling to the hotel and spending the day at the pool then going out to eat and heading out to 4th street. It's been a little crazy trying to keep everything organized so my pal mel kept in contact with alot of the nightclubs so I wouldn't lose my mind! Hopefully baby Rooney likes louisville!!! :)

Ever since I've found I was pregnant the gifts/support started flowing in...whether it be for me or baby roon they make me smile and tear up! I sleep with my body pillow every night and I've got some adorable maternity tanks and belly bands to wear! He's already got a giraffe and a caterpillar book from steph. We have some awesome frames too! Today though the durretts got me my first lil boy clothes!!! Here's a few of the items...love them!!! :) thanks again everyone

Week 14 flew by! We've been keeping so busy with work, housestuff, and plans that I haven't had much time to update! Things are going great I feel wonderful...I can honestly say that I think I almost feel better pregnant than before?? I no longer have headaches/migraines I'm tired, but lord knows I loved my sleep before too ;)

So far I have a lil pooch starting and haven't really started gaining any weight--I think it's bc I'm actually eating healthy, but dr says not to worry I'll catch up :)
My next dr appt is Monday and I think it's just a checkup..throughout all this me and pat decided against any screenings for down's, spina bifida, and the many other disorders. Some friends have had false positives before and there's no way we'd even lean towards early termination. So that wasn't even an issue for us!

Also big news at 14.5 weeks it's definitely a boy!!! We couldn't be happier! I really really hope I have my own mini-pat I hope he looks just like him :)

Alot of people have been asking names so far I think it'll end up being JACK :) but we also like mason (but it's getting a lil too popular)

In the picture below the triangular shaped thing sticking out boy parts!!

BuyBuyBaby trip~~not so much fun

We had our first buybuybaby trip, didn't go as smoothly as I thought :)

We were out running errands and needed to buy Layla some gifts so I thought it would be fun for me and Pat to glimpse at some of the baby stuff bc it had been a rough week. I warned him to not look at prices and not to get overwhelmed, thinking it would be him who would have the breakdown...I was wrong it was me lol. It wasn't really anything that set it off but while we were walking through I suddenly got hot, sweaty, pale, and felt like I was going to faint. Luckily we were in the "rocker" section so I plopped on a rocker until I felt alot better. Afterwards we ran and grabbed lunch and I definitely went home and took a nap...baby roon must be taking all my blood/energy (ALREADY)!!

I did buy a cute neutral colored giraffe onesie I loved....we are in trouble once I find out gender ;)

Rooney Pool Day

We have the best in-laws anyone could ask for. Last Saturday was wonderful! We actually had some family photos taken at the Rooney household and then had a family pool day. Basically this means eating, laying out, drinking (not for me), and they even had a masseuse come to the house! It was so great to finally take a weekend to step back from work, call, crazy schedules and catch up with family. PS the massage was amazing. She did an awesome job and she gave me some great tips for now and once I'm further along to stay comfortable.

Also that weekend we celebrated James' 10th bday~~I can't believe he's 10!! He is very excited for our baby to get here!

13.5 weeks!!

Helloooo 2nd trimester!! We're so happy to be out of the risky 1st trimester. Especially with my job and scanning miscarriages every day we are very lucky to make it through this smoothly. I had another OB appt and another ultrasound. The ultrasound was to check my cervix (bc I of course was very worried that I needed a cerclage to keep my cervix closed) but luckily my cervix is long and strong! Also baby rooney was measuring a few days ahead so that's great too! So far I've been feeling great! One day last week I had a bad day and went home from work early, but with the placenta forming I think it's just sucking all of my energy!

Baby rooney is now bigger than a lemon :) and is moving all around. At night I think I can feel small flutters. He/she sleeps all day while I'm at work and moving around like crazy, but at night he/she wakes up.

As for gender, I'm still leaning towards boy, but we honestly don't know for sure yet! I'm sure we'll be able to tell in the next 2 weeks!!

On to week 14!!!
